Well known Jackson Hole ski mountaineers Steve Romeo and Chris Onufer died in an avalanche on Ranger Peak in the Tetons on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. They were first missed when Chris Onufer failed to meet his father at the airport Wednesday night. An aerial search Thursday morning revealed an avalanche on Ranger Peak. The two skiers' beacon signals were located and a rescue crew recovered the bodies.

The community is reeling from this event.  See the full story and more details at http://jhnewsandguide.com/article.php?art_id=8333
