Glamorous women and dashing men enjoyed an evening of great California wines, fine dining, and music at the top of the Bridger Gondola on Thursday June 21, 2012, at the Grand Teton Music Festival's Taste of Jackson Hole.
Chefs from Nikai, Cafe Genevieve, the Snake River Grill, Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse, The Silver Dollar Bar and Grill, Snake River Brewing, Il Villagio Osteria, Cascade, Rendezvous Bistro, Teton Thai, Trio, The Kitchen, Dining In Catering, and Persephone Bakery prepared and served a bounty of delicious appetizers. Wine stewards from some of California's top vineyards poured freely and described the nuances of their selected wines. Snake River Brewing was on hand with their award-winning beer and One Ton Pig played their cowboy-enfused bluegrass music with an energy to match the merriment.
The annual, $100-a-ticket event is part of the Jackson Hole Wine Auction, a three-day festival held by the Grand Teton Music Festival. For more information, go to http://www.jhwineauction.org/

The very lively second event of the Jackson Hole Film & Food Series took place at the Center for the Arts on Thursday, May 24. This culinary event featured artisan cocktails, passed hors dʼoeuvres and a gourmet dessert buffet.
Guests enjoyed many scrumptious hors dʼoeuvres, including seared ahi and Niçoise atop fingerling potatoes, elk tartare on fresh made potato chips and the wood-fired pizza… compliments of Roger Friedman, executive chef/partner of Rendezvous Bistro, and Karen Hogan, owner/chef of Firebelly Pizza.
A fabulous chocolate sculpture adorned the table of dessert tarts and cakes provided by Oscar Ortega, master chocolatier and pastry chef of the Atelier Ortega. The chocolate cups filled with fresh fruits glazed with a wonderful, mysterious liqueur were my favorite!
The featured film of the evening was “The Architect and the Painter”, a fascinating documentary about Charles Eames and his wife Ray Eames. The Eames were two of the most prominent designers… architect and painter, respectively… of the 20th Century.
