This photo of an avalanche on Pucker Face In Dec. 2013 that killed skier Mike Kazanjy illustrates the points made today in a Jackson Hole News & Guide article, “Resort aims to educate about gate-accessible terrain”:
“There is no sidecountry.” – Teton County Search and Rescue.
“We don’t want to give people the idea that this is a managed, easy area. It’s not mapped, it’s not managed, there is no avalanche mitigation. People need to know that.” – Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
